Boxes, brackets and of course Cooper..

The weekend started with delivery of our new deck furniture in two big boxes.  Of course things couldn’t be smooth and easy and we are missing two complete sets of hardware for two chairs and the light fixture’s battery compartment is cracked so I’ll be making the call on Monday for the replacement parts.  We like the furniture a lot though it’s consider counter height, so it’s a little taller and instead of looking at the rails I can see over them.

Randy decided to work a little more on the glider since we had the replacement brackets.  He got it all assembled and it works but it sits very low without the bend in the bracket like the original.  So in addition to needing to unbend some bends in the metal, now he needs to bend the new brackets.  Still it’s a piece of my family history, dings and dents included!

Cooper continues to grow, though he seems to have no idea how big he is.  He is a continual source of joy with his playtime with Ally and his sleeping positions.

It’s Christmas Time at Logs End..

Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, Blessed Solstice to one and all!
This year things are a little different, quieter and less hectic.  With the addition of Cooper, going out, going away and going all over the place have come to almost a complete halt.  To be honest, I’m not complaining one bit about that, it’s nice to be home more.  I’ve enjoyed baking cookies with Randy on the weekends and watching the snow fall.
The decorations are up though not as many (or as fragile) as years past.  Since we didn’t know how Cooper would be with the tree and decorations we were careful about what we put up.  He’s done really, really well considering this is his first Christmas and how big he is!

I’m happy to report that my Santa’s have remained in one piece (so far).

The garland is still up on the rails, the villages haven’t been broken and the stockings are still hanging by the fire.  I’ve been careful to not put anything that smells tasty into those stockings so that he would continue to ignore them Winking smile  I can hardly wait till Christmas morning when he gets to dive into his stocking and play with the toys we got him.  Though if his past has been any indication of his future, I suspect the wrapping paper and boxes will be his favorite gifts of all!

Just a month…

It’s been a month.  It doesn’t seem like it at all, most days it feels like Cooper has been here forever!

He’s growing SO fast, at his vet appointment this past Wednesday he was 28.5 pounds!  He’s doing great with his puppy kindergarten class and his in home training with a professional trainer.  He’s super smart, maybe too smart as he figured out how to go up and down the stairs in the house by himself as well as hop on the sofa!  We’ve been working to teach him that he can only join us if we invite him as we don’t want him up there on his own.
Zoe has decided that she likes him for the most part. When we got back from the vet she was most interested in where he was and not us.  She must have missed him because she let him do something that she typically doesn’t do…

get on her bed!  They also spent some quality time together in the living room..

I think the biggest challenge we are facing is with the cats.  When he remains calm they all get along so well, the trouble is he gets super excited, they run and he chases.  The funny thing is neither Hayleigh or Ally have done more than hiss at him.  Ally is softening though…

I guess she’s realizing he’s here to stay and she’s got to share!  He was just beside himself with glee, he kept burying his head under her and she’d just purr louder.
I love my fur-kids!
