Cruising…

Vacation 2011 has come and gone and while it was nice to have a break, I’m not sure how soon we will be boarding a ship again.  Don’t get me wrong the service was impeccable, they could not have been more accommodating in any way, shape or form. The ship was clean and our Junior suite was wonderful, spacious and comfortable.  The weather didn’t play nice, we left Baltimore and it was cold and snowing, yes in October it was snowing!  The seas were angry and rough, the wind was howling and while for some that was an issue, for me not so much.  The problem I had, was people, people were everywhere!  Of course a large part of that was because of the weather, it kept everyone inside which I think made it that much worse.  The dining room was so loud, so crowded that it was just too much for me.  I like my meals to be a lot quieter, a lot slower paced, a lot less stressful even.
Bermuda was not anything like I expected, it’s far more expensive and ritzy than I would have ever believed.  We scheduled some outings and enjoyed something that I’ve wanted to do all my life…

Swimming with the dolphins was probably the biggest highlight of the cruise. They are smart, they are beautiful and their energy is contagious!  I’ve been in the ocean with them before, had them swim close, close enough to feel them brush against my legs.  I never got to touch one like this though, never seen a dolphins belly button up close!  This was wonderful and playing with them in the water was priceless!!!!  We were supposed to go snorkeling and do a night time glass bottom boat ride over the Bermuda triangle but once again the weather interfered and choppy seas with rain stopped those from happening.
We did however take the one sunny day we had and walked around Hamilton Bermuda.  Million dollar homes, Rolex, Jimmy Choo and Cartier in the windows all left me speechless.

We left Bermuda and headed out into stormy seas again, gale winds and 25 foot waves for the entire trip back.  There were green people on that ship with us, there were also barf bags on all the stairwells!  We faired just fine and found that sleeping with the door to our balcony open really made a big difference in how soundly we slept.

When was the last time you came back to your room and found a rabbit or a monkey hanging out?  I loved these, just a wonderful, whimsical touch!

It wasn’t PSV.  I can’t believe that anything will ever compare to that and honestly, I’m not sure that I really want to ever try to find anything that could.  I think 2012 will be a PSV year…
